The Roots Fund Harvest Internships

With The Roots Fund, you can gain valuable experience working with acclaimed wineries across the globe. International internships require previous harvest experience and language services.

To become a harvest intern with The Roots Fund you will need: be fully vaccinated, valid state ID, driver's license or passport, resume, cover letter, willingness to learn and work hard, be at least 21 years of age, be a member of the BIPOC community, be a team player. Language services in Spanish or French for up to 4 months of the internship. Have a valid passport. (For international internships)

The Versaison Project x Silver Oak Apprenticeship

Silver Oak is committed to making their organization more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. The Veraison Project is thrilled to partner with Silver Oak on a year-long, full-time, paid rotational apprenticeship program beginning July 2022 in Sonoma and Napa counties.

This position will rotate through various departments throughout the company, allowing for experience in areas including (but not limited to) Vineyard, Production, Customer Care and Fulfillment, Marketing, Wholesale and Marketing. In addition to the partnership in developing a rotational apprenticeship, Silver Oak has also contracted The Veraison Project for their DEI training to ensure they are providing a safe and equitable workplace.

The apprentice must be 21 and willing to relocate to the area for a year (if they are not already local) or able to commute and must have a reliable car. Applications will be open until February 28th, 2022. In addition to the online application, candidates must email a letter of recommendation from a mentor or supervisor, a cover letter, and a resume to info@theveraisonproject.com.

Field Blends: Walla Walla Scholarships

An immersive, 4-day experience connecting wine industry conversations with consumer action and education. Scholarships for Field Blends seek to empower diverse individuals pursuing a career in the wine industry through community-building, inquiry, and exploration.

Field Blends scholarships are open to individuals from underrepresented communities including, but not limited to, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, people of color, persons from racially diverse or intersectional communities, persons with disabilities, and persons from LGBTQ+ communities.

Applications for Field Blends: Walla Walla scholarships are currently open for submission January 10, 2022 through February 11, 2022. Application available in English and Spanish.

Scholarship recipients will attend Field Blends: Walla Walla with all expenses paid, including airfare and hotel accommodations.

Urban Grape Wine Studies for Students of Color

The Urban Grape Wine Studies Award for Students of Color provides financial support for historically underrepresented students in the wine industry and the Boston University wine studies program. The Urban Grape is an award-winning wine, craft beer, and spirits store located in Boston’s vibrant South End neighborhood. Owners Hadley and TJ Douglas are long-time supporters of the Certificate Program in Wine Studies at Boston University, and TJ received his Wine Studies Level 3 certificate from Boston University in Spring 2007

Glancy Wine Education Foundation

The Glancy Wine Education Foundation is dedicated to assisting disadvantaged and minority communities with scholarships to further their professional wine education in the hopes of increasing diversity and raising earning power. Scholarships are available to any wine & hospitality staff in need, including restaurant & tasting room workers who have become unemployed or underemployed due to closures or mandatory Social Distancing orders. The Glancy Wine Education Foundation provides scholarships to students demonstrating the economic need and a desire to start or advance a career in the wine or hospitality industry using certifications offered at San Francisco Wine School. In the past, applicants have demonstrated economic need resulting from unemployment or underemployment due to restaurant closures, the COVID pandemic, and California wildfires.

Applications will be accepted year-round and reviewed four times per year (January 31, March 31, July 31, and October 31) by the Glancy Wine Education Foundation board of directors.
